December Pack

admin | January 5, 2009

Hey all!

The december pack has been compiled and released. As always, you can view all levels included in the pack simply by clicking the ’show/hide levels list’ link in the information about the pack. All this is found on the Level Packs page.

Anyways, this month we had a great number of levels, 43. That’s over one level released a day! Good job guys.

You can also download the pack directly right here: December Pack.zip.

A ‘08 pack including all levels released in 2008 from the monthly level packs is being compiled right after I finish this blog post. Additionally, the CLA (Custom Level Archive) will be updated from this.

Enjoy!

Torque Constructor - Installing and Configuring

admin | December 27, 2008

I have just made a new constructor beginner tutorial that shows you how to install and configure it. As described in the video’s description:

A video tutorial on installing on configuring Torque Constructor for use with Marbleblast. Included is downloading the application, updating/patching to the latest version, importing textures, setting up default preferences, and more. It’s a must have for those interested in getting started with constructor.

Anyways, I highly recommend it. More like this will be coming in the next few weeks ;)

You can watch it here on youtube. If you have the bandwidth for it, I very much suggest watching in HD; the picture is superb.

MarbleBlast Platinum 1.12 - Mac

admin | December 14, 2008

Hi all,

After months of long discussions and planning, myself and Ben (from PhilsEmpire) have finally pulled it all together and released Beta 1 of MarbleBlast Platinum 1.12. The lengthy part wasn’t getting it to work on mac; the installer was more time-consuming to create. Because there would literally have to be pages and pages of manual instructions, we decided to release it as it is with an installer instead. This greatly simplifies the installation process. I have received countless emails since 1.02 asking for clarifications on the instructions for install and issues people were having, so hopefully that flow of mail will start to diminish with this new release. One thing that myself and everyone included is depressed about is the lack of leaderboards on the Mac build. Don’t think we decided this; there was just nothing we could do because the exe left out much network support needed, and we can’t modify the exe.

Enough with all this talk, you can download it from Phil’s Empire in the Mac Downloads section.

One more thing: if you are using MarbleBlast Platinum for mac, please show your support and give comments on its iUseThis page. Just register an account, click the ‘iusethis’ button under the icon, and give a quick comment. By showing your support for it, it may enlighten others who do not have the game. It would be awesome if some of you guys did that. :)

P.S. Don’t be shy guys! You can reply to my blog posts! :D

Site Update

admin | December 7, 2008

Hey everyone,

This is just an announcement informing you of a site update (that has been in work for the last three months). I’m really happy with the results, some noticable new features include organizational changes (level packs now has it’s own page), content revisions, a feature on the Level Packs page to view all levels released each month, and a small forum being added. In addition to this, there were a voluminous amount of behind-the-scenes changes in the coding for productivity for myself and code revisions for W3C validation. It may not seem like a lot on the outside, but to me it is a big accomplishment.

Also, the three latest monthly packs have been released. I am sorry that the September and October pack weren’t released right away; it just wasn’t practical to release them without incorporating all the changes I have done. You may also notice a new favicon, it is pretty bad, but I like it.

Browse the site all you want, and don’t forget to download the latest monthly level packs!

July Pack and MBP News!

admin | August 8, 2008

Hi ya everyone!

To sum up the recent events, the July Pack has been released (in addition to the June Pack that I never posted about) and MBP 1.10 is making great progress!

Last month’s pack was a huge improvement! There was a total of 62 levels released, 47 of those being MBP and 15 were MBG. That doubled amount of levels from June can be credited mostly to Henry’s wopping 38 level MBP pack he released. Thanks Henry!

So feel free to download the pack. Find it here: July Pack.zip

In MBP news, the path 1.10 is making large progress. Here are some screenshots, courtesy of the Marble Blast Forum and PhilsEmpire.

06/06/2008>>May Pack and Other News

admin | June 6, 2008

Hey everyone,

After some work yesterday, the May Pack has been compiled! Sadly, we only had 17 levels this month, though May was a large breakthrough–there weren’t any MBG levels! It seems month by month the community is slowly adjusting to making MBP levels instead of MBG because of course Platinum included many more features, hazards, frictions, and more. Why wouldn’t you go with Marbleblast Platinum?

Anyways, you can download the May Pack by clicking the link below.
May Pack.zip

In other news, there is much going on in the InstantAction side of things.

  • Crash and DrWiley have started their own podcast to inform the InstantAction community of many things like upcoming features, latest installments, and more.
  • There is a new game picker to choose your game. I personally like the old one better, but that’s just me. The new one is simpler and more organized; in addition, it can make room for a higher number of games.

I have achieved a somewhat solid current world record for Skyscraper for Marbleblast Online. I have the path on video, but that video isn’t getting out just yet… =p I have also started a video for some alternate routes I have made for the MBO levels. I can’t tell you when to expect it, but either in a couple days or a couple weeks as I am leaving Sunday for some… vacation stuff.

Sledding (11.48): http://youtube.com/watch?v=nX3ZoT4m1no

Natural Selection (33.91): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eg6CeWVbkNo

MBO: Battlements (18.89): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dS0fOwkdWU

Some other news to report about:
I have finally bought the SP maps so I am now working on all those levels not included w/o paying. Also, Rokkitball now has a few new maps you can play on. They cost a lot of tokens, but I’m sure its worth it.
